Providence, Rhode Island, 1772


Know all men by these presents, that we Nicholas Cook & Anne Sterrey Principals and Gersham Carpenter and Joseph Field Sureties, all of Providence in the County of Providence in the Colony of Rhode Island, and Providence Plantations, in New England, are holden and firmly bound unto this present Town Council of Providence aforesaid, and to their successors in said office, in the full sum of six hundred pound lawful current money of New England, to be paid to the said Town Council, and to their successors in said office. To the which payment we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors and administrators, jointly, severally, and firmly by these presents. Sealed with our seals. Dated this fourteenth day of December in the thirteenth year of his Majesty's Regin, King George the third King of Great Britain, etc Annoque Domini 1772.

The condition of this obligation is such, that if the above bounden Nicolas Cook and Anne Sterrey who are administrators of all and singular the goods, chattels and credits of Robert Sterrey late of said Providence Mariner deceased, do make or cause to be made a true and perfect inventory of all and singular the goods, chattels and credits of the said deceased; which have or shall come to the hands, possession or knowledge of him the said Nicholas Cook and Anney Sterrey or into the hands and possession of any other person or persons, for them do well and truly administer according to Law. And father do make or cause to be made a true and just account of his administration at or before the fourteenth day of December next ensuing then the above obligation to be void and of none effect, or otherwise to be and remain in full force and virtue.
