1872 Sep 3 Middlesbrough William Storry, 52 years, Sailor engaged in Ironworks. Accidentally killed by an iron column falling upon him. Information received from the J C Sowerby Coroner for the liberty of Langbaurgh. Inquest held 4 Sep 1872. Middlesbrough Library located the following newspaper article in the Evening Gazette, September 3 1872, that reports the death of William. FATAL ACCIDENT AT BOLCKOW, VAUGHAN AND CO'S - A man, named William Sterry, met with an accident on the 30th alt., while working at Bolckow, Vaughan, and Co's.  He was taking down some pillars in connection with a ball furnace; while removing one pillar, another fell upon him and broke one of his legs, besides injuring his face and head.  He was removed to the Infirmiary, and died there this morning.
