Thomas lived in Southwark, Surrey and was a maker of candles.  He was a member of St Thomas' Church, Southwark.  According to his will, dated June 3, 1723 and proved April 10, 1727, he owned a very large number of buildings in three Southwark parishes. Daily Courant (London, England), Tuesday, September 6, 1720 To be Sold A Freehold Estate of 88 l. per Annum, being in 14 Tenements, with about 60 foot  of ground behind most of them, some of them let upon lease, lying in New Street on Horslydown, Southwark.  Inquire of Thomas Sterry, Tallow-Chandler, in Horslydown Fair-Street, and know further A House, Stable Warehouse and Vault, in the possession of Mrs Jakeman and a piece of ground with a shed on it and a stable, late in the possession of Henry Hodges, Carpenter, both being late part of Major Woodroff's Brew-house near Queenhith, are to be let by the Waxchandlers Company, further information may be had of Mr. John Reeve, their Clerk at their Hall in Maiden-Lane.
