The Ruardean and Longhope lines are also almost certainly connected, the two Forest of Dean villages being only a few miles apart. Unfortunately, the parish registers are very difficult to read in parts and the Longhope records relating to the English Civil War period were destroyed and were not kept properly for many years afterwards. However, current DNA evidence does not support this connection.
