Know all men by these presents, that James M Peckham as principal, and Fannie M Standish are holden and stand firmly bound and obliged unto the State of Connecticut in the penal sum of four thousand dollars, to be paid to the said State or to its certain Attorney. To the which payment well, and truly to be made, we, the said obligors, do bind ourselves, our heirs, executors, and administrators, and each and every of them, for and in the whole sum aforesaid, firmly by these presents. Signed with our hands and sealed with our seals this 21 day of April 1883.

The condition of this Obligation is such, that if the above bounden James M Peckham has been appointed by the Court of Probate for the District of Lebanon Administrator on the Estate of Mrs Emily Sterry late of Lebanon in said District deceased and has accepted said trust. Now, therefore, James M Peckham shall well and faithfully discharge the duties of his appointment according to law, then the above obligation to be void, and of none effect, otherwise to remain in full force, power and virtue.

And also that the order made and passed by said Court on the 20th day of November A.D. 1883 relative to posting notice on the public sign post for the settlement of the Administration Account with said estate, was done as directed.
